Hotel Front Desk Associate

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hotel Front Desk Clerk to join our team at 3051939 Nova Scotia Ltd. o/a HI Port Hawkesbury. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process, and maintaining a high level of accuracy in room assignments and reservations.
Key Responsibilities:- Register arriving guests and assign rooms in a timely and efficient manner
- Process group arrivals and departures, taking into account special requests and preferences
- Take, cancel, and change room reservations as needed, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
- Provide guests with information on hotel facilities and services, as well as recommendations for local attractions and activities
- Exchange foreign currency and process guests' departures, calculating charges and receiving payments
- Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Follow emergency and safety procedures, and respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
- Clerical duties, including faxing, filing, and photocopying, as needed
- Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages, providing excellent customer service at all times
- Assist guests with special needs, and provide support and guidance as required
- Contact guests to deliver requested wake-up calls, and provide general information about hotel services and amenities
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a front desk or customer service role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and colleagues
- Ability to work under pressure, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in multi-line switchboard and word processing software
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required
