Work with a leader in the Canadian retail industry
ROLE SUMMARYWe are seeking a strategic and knowledgeable HR Business Partner to join our team at Reitmans (Canada) Limited. As a key member of our HR department, you will contribute to the achievement of our objectives by providing counsel to various levels of management, leading and executing HR initiatives, and managing employee case files in accordance with legal and corporate policies and practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide expert guidance and coaching on HR matters, ensuring compliance with policies, Employment Standards, and other regulatory employment and human rights requirements.
- Collaborate with management to resolve employee relations issues and serve as a trusted advisor.
- Assist in the interview process and onboarding of new supervisors, managers, and directors.
- Contribute to the development of projects and programs that impact client groups and the organization as a whole.
- Deliver training sessions for company programs in both French and English.
- Support management through annual performance management programs, including performance evaluations and salary increases.
- Assist in talent management and succession planning conversations to identify employees' potential for future job opportunities.
- Participate in various health and safety committees in partnership with the HR corporate Health and Wellness department.
- Prepare employee disciplinary measures documentation, including corrective action plans.
- Degree in HR management, industrial relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist.
- CHRP designation is an asset.
- Bilingual (written and verbal) in English and French.
- Proficient in all Office software and PeopleSoft.
- Ability to build relationships and establish trust.
- Comfortable with multitasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment.
- Team player who can work effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Knowledge of current HR issues and future trends.
- Adaptable and comfortable with change.
