Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director to spearhead our Business Development initiatives in China, driving business growth through strategic partnerships and collaborations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, negotiating, and closing deals that align with our three-pillar strategy: Consumer Health, Generics, and Specialty Pharmaceuticals, including biosimilars.

  1. Establish STADA as a preferred partner in the Chinese pharmaceutical community by leveraging our European heritage, knowledge, and unique pan-European setup to offer best-in-class business opportunities.
  2. Identify, negotiate, and close acquisition and licensing deals with Chinese companies looking to expand their geographic footprint in Europe. Additionally, evaluate co-development and local manufacturing opportunities.
  3. Evaluate and ensure that these deals align with our company's three-pillar strategy, focusing on Consumer Health, Generics, and Specialty Pharmaceuticals, including biosimilars.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams comprising Portfolio, Technical Development, Finance, IP/Legal, Regulatory, and Marketing to manage the opportunity evaluation process.
  5. Develop and present comprehensive business cases and management approval decks for acquisition opportunities.
  6. Negotiate contracts and amendments with partners and collaborate with HQ cross-functional teams to conclude and execute agreements.
  7. Cultivate relationships with potential partners, facilitating communication between various functional areas, such as Quality, SCM, Sales, etc.
  8. Create compelling presentations on BD&L opportunities for review and approval by senior leadership.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Consumer Health or Generic Pharmaceutical industry, particularly in Business Development roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Chinese pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industry, with strong connections to top management levels of potential partners.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and product P&L modeling.
  • Leadership experience in country-specific Business Development transactions, encompassing product identification, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
  • Ability to evaluate and understand scientific information relevant to successful in-licensing and out-licensing programs.
  • Demonstrated track record in Business Development, from methodologies for target identification to due diligence, deal closure, and post-closure support.
  • Understanding of business models, including finance, capitalization structure, legal liabilities, and synergies with STADA's portfolio.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software tools.
Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is ¥800,000 - ¥1,200,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
