Job Summary:

As the Commercial Director - Healthcare, you will oversee and guide a regional sales team. Your role will involve providing essential direction and accountability to meet established commercial objectives through account expansion. You will nurture and develop your team, taking charge of training, budgeting, annual goal setting, and regularly assessing performance against established metrics. You will have the opportunity to suggest strategic initiatives as needed. Your involvement in strategy will include offering insights for new or strategic business ventures in key areas through innovative global business analyses, market intelligence, competitive insights, customer feedback, and regional contributions. Collaborating with a global team, you will help enhance service and ensure that overarching goals are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the annual sales strategy, budget, and objectives prior to the submission of the yearly budget. Provide ongoing leadership and direction to the regional sales team. Inspire and promote cross-selling and exceptional customer service. Regularly act as an authority to effectively resolve customer issues and complaints. Recruit, train, and develop Sales Account Managers, Technical Account Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, and Technical Specialists to meet commercial objectives. Assess staff performance and initiate disciplinary actions as necessary. Identify training and development needs for staff. Foster strong communication regarding product knowledge and corporate goals. Oversee and manage regional sales travel and expenditures. Organize sales staff participation at scheduled trade shows. Evaluate the success of trade show participants by tracking the number of new orders generated from leads obtained at the events. Contribute to strategic direction by developing an understanding of our customers' business environments. Create and execute promotional campaigns, compiling strategic insights into presentation materials and call planning. Demonstrate expertise in various skills, including product portfolio planning, channel and go-to-market strategies, and customer/market research. Assist in preparing the annual sales and marketing budget to align with company objectives and operating margins. Regularly monitor, analyze, and report results to various organizational levels throughout the year. Participate in administrative and procedural teams to provide input and contribute to corporate and divisional objectives. Lead special projects as required and recommend process improvements while ensuring goals are met. Engage with customers and prospects to maintain an understanding of the marketplace. Monitor competitor marketing activities. Aid in the preparation and distribution of marketing materials. Attend conferences, exhibitions, and meetings as necessary. Contribute to the development of CSA Group's global business strategies and influence the execution of that strategy in collaboration with Regional Leaders. Provide insights for regional investment, mergers and acquisitions, marketing, and pricing strategies. Manage key relationships with trade associations and government agencies. Supply input for business analysis, market intelligence, and competitive data. Collaborate with Finance to ensure relevant data and metrics are available. Contribute to the development and implementation of programs impacting staff and customers, ensuring proactive communication as needed. Utilize business acumen and personal leadership skills to influence staff and foster a positive business culture.

Qualifications:

A post-secondary education is required, preferably in technical and/or business disciplines; an Engineering Degree and an MBA are advantageous. A minimum of six years of strategic leadership experience (global or regional accountability) in a product group or technology. Proven ability to influence, build networks, and achieve results without traditional line authority. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to thrive in matrix and team environments is critical. Capability to lead multiple stakeholders and balance competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed sales targets. Proven experience engaging with large organizations at senior levels. Ability to create clear, effective, and professional written communications and presentations. Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office), along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Excellent written and spoken English is required. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are necessary. Must be able to meet deadlines and occasionally work under pressure. Experience leading a regional sales team is essential. Continuously review sales processes to ensure they are efficient, effective, and accurate.
