MEDAL HR has been engaged by a prominent equipment provider to fill the following role.

Position Title: Human Resources Business Partner

Compensation: Salary range of $78,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience.

Role Purpose:

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Business Partner will design and implement HR initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the organization. This role encompasses a comprehensive approach to human resources, emphasizing policy development, employee engagement, benefits management, talent acquisition, compliance with labor laws, workplace safety, and diversity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze HR-related challenges, collaborating with management to develop effective solutions.
  • Safeguard the interests of both the organization and its employees by adhering to company policies and relevant legislation, ensuring compliance across the board.
  • Address employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, disciplinary actions, and separations.
  • Draft and review all HR-related communications and documentation, such as employment offers, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and internal memos.
  • Oversee and manage employee benefits and retirement plans, including design and renewal processes.
  • Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to leadership on all HR matters.
  • Provide insights on HR best practices and industry trends.
  • Guide the leadership team in recruitment, selection, and retention strategies, ensuring timely fulfillment of open positions.
  • Lead the development of Health & Safety initiatives to ensure a secure work environment, adhering to regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Research and recommend training and development programs that foster organizational and employee growth.
  • Offer coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution support to both leadership and staff, maintaining awareness of employee morale.

Qualifications for Success:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in a generalist HR role.
  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial services is preferred.
  • Ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Self-driven, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing shifting priorities and rapid changes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new systems; familiarity with social media for recruitment and branding is advantageous.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to adopt new processes and technologies.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional relationships.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for organizational purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification is a plus.
  • Experience in labor relations.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
