Job Overview:
The HR Information Systems Analyst is accountable for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of all HR Information Systems. This role involves providing specialized knowledge in HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and Pension Administration processes to ensure seamless operational execution and to facilitate the successful implementation of design modifications and enhancements.

The Analyst will utilize PeopleSoft modules, exploring new features and functionalities, while also identifying, developing, and implementing strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and productivity. This position supports projects related to continuous improvement, system enhancements, and HR operational functions.

The Analyst will act as a primary resource for functional support to technical teams, HRIS Records Analysts, HR Business Partners, payroll, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Business Analyst to implement enhancements, modifications, and upgrades for existing systems while troubleshooting production issues related to HRIS and its interfaces.
  • Develop functional documentation, conduct testing, and implement system changes while coordinating with various teams across IT and other departments throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in projects covering areas such as benefits, compensation, payroll, time and labor, performance management, learning, absence management, and professional development.
  • Provide insights on system effectiveness, oversee end-to-end project deployment, participate in design workshops, and liaise with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist the Senior BA in HRIS support, troubleshooting production issues, and creating documentation, including system and user manuals, security protocols, and reporting (e.g., query, SQL). Offer recommendations for process improvements and efficient management of HRIS systems.
  • Suggest enhancements and modifications to systems and processes to boost productivity while evaluating new technologies.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of HRIS systems and their integration with other systems, staying updated on technological advancements, collective agreements, and best practices.
  • Perform additional duties such as tax updates, year-end changes, workforce administration, and managing other PeopleSoft modules.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a 3-year diploma or degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • At least 7 years of experience as a business analyst with proficiency in PeopleSoft (Payroll, Workforce Administration, Time and Labor, and Absence Management), PeopleQuery, SQL, and Human Resources (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access, with the ability to manipulate data effectively.
  • Experience in reporting using the PeopleSoft Query tool.
