Reports to: Clinical Director
Wage Range: Competitive based on experience
Hours: 20 – 37.5 Hours per Week
Shifts: Monday to Friday; negotiable with minimum and maximum hours
Status: Temporary Full-Time

Job Responsibilities

The On-Site Administrative Coordinator plays a vital role in the hospital's administrative framework, providing essential support to clinical staff during non-business hours. This position is ideal for individuals seeking leadership opportunities and a comprehensive understanding of hospital operations and clinical programs. The Coordinator is entrusted with significant authority and autonomy, making informed decisions that align with the hospital's goals and values.

Key Duties Include:

  1. Overseeing patient flow and managing hospital capacity effectively.
  2. Collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth hospital operations, including the assignment and direction of clinical and non-clinical personnel.
  3. Facilitating the delivery of care based on evidence-based practices and established protocols.
  4. Acting as a liaison to healthcare professionals and community members, ensuring effective communication.
  5. Promoting professional development for both self and staff members.
  6. Ensuring compliance with quality improvement initiatives and programs.
  7. Responding to emergency situations and serving as the site commander when necessary.
  8. Performing additional responsibilities as required, consistent with the role.
Qualifications
  • Ability to make sound operational decisions based on established protocols.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and positive change.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II.
  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Up to five years of relevant experience, including three years in an acute care environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Progressive administrative experience in a nursing context is preferred.
  • Critical care experience is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of professional standards and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation impacting healthcare operations.
  • Ability to work effectively as both a team leader and member.
  • Commitment to continuous education and professional growth.
  • Capacity to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in a unionized setting is preferred.
