Role Summary
The On-Site Administrative Coordinator plays a crucial role within the hospital's administrative framework, delivering both administrative and clinical support to staff during non-business hours. This position is ideal for individuals seeking leadership opportunities and a comprehensive understanding of hospital operations and clinical programs. The Coordinator is empowered to make decisions that align with the hospital's objectives while fostering an environment that reflects the institution's mission and values. Responsibilities include addressing urgent matters and facilitating patient care across various services.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing patient flow and managing hospital capacity effectively.
- Collaborating with all departments to enhance hospital operations, including the assignment and direction of clinical and non-clinical personnel.
- Ensuring high-quality care delivery through evidence-based practices.
- Facilitating effective communication with healthcare professionals and community members.
- Promoting professional development for oneself and staff members.
- Ensuring compliance with quality improvement initiatives.
- Responding to emergency situations and acting as the site commander.
- Performing additional duties as required by the role.
- Ability to make informed operational decisions based on established protocols.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing; Master's degree preferred.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Up to five years of relevant experience, including three years in an acute care environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Preferred two years of progressive administrative experience in nursing.
- Critical care experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of professional standards and quality assurance guidelines.
- Understanding of relevant legislation affecting healthcare operations.
- Ability to work effectively as both a leader and team member.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
