The On-Site Administrative Coordinator plays a crucial role in the hospital's administrative framework, providing essential support to clinical staff during non-business hours. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to enhance their leadership skills while gaining comprehensive insights into hospital operations and clinical programs. The coordinator will exercise considerable authority and autonomy, making informed decisions that align with the hospital's objectives and values.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties include:
- Overseeing patient flow and managing hospital capacity effectively.
- Collaborating with various departments to support operational needs, including directing clinical and non-clinical staff as required.
- Ensuring the delivery of quality care based on evidence-based practices.
- Facilitating communication among healthcare professionals and engaging with family and community members.
- Promoting professional development for oneself and staff members.
- Monitoring compliance with quality improvement initiatives.
- Responding to emergency situations and serving as the site commander.
- Performing additional duties as assigned that align with the role.
- Ability to make informed operational decisions based on established protocols.
- Commitment to continuous learning and implementing effective changes.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Up to five years of relevant experience, including three years in an acute care environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Progressive administrative experience in a nursing context preferred.
- Critical care experience is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills grounded in a solid understanding of hospital operations.
- Knowledge of professional standards and quality assurance guidelines.
- Understanding of relevant legislation impacting healthcare operations.
- Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
- Membership in a relevant professional organization is advantageous.
