Strategic Business Development Manager

We are a dynamic paper bag manufacturing company based in Markham, Ontario, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and adhering to industry standards. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth by effectively engaging with wholesalers, retailers, and customers directly.
Job DescriptionThis is a salary and commission-based position that requires a proactive individual who can develop and execute a strategic sales plan. Key responsibilities include:
- Generating leads, understanding their needs, and proposing suitable solutions
- Creating and executing a strategic sales plan through active market trend monitoring
- Meeting with potential clients, growing long-term relationships, and serving customer needs
- Executing the entire sales process from planning to closing
- Efficiently managing leads, opportunities, and sales activities using CRM tools
- Focusing on customer retention strategies, tracking customer feedback, and developing action plans as required
- Introducing various membership plans for paper bag customers
- Conducting negotiations and successfully closing deals
- Coordinating with production and logistics to ensure timely delivery of products
- Creating regular reports on sales activities, goals, and results to inform strategy updates
- Updating daily logging of visits or contacts in the CRM system to track customer interactions
- Developing skills to train team members, ensuring effective sales tactics meet sales objectives
- Planning, directing, and evaluating activities related to advertising campaigns to promote product sales
- Analyzing market research data to improve business decisions or activities
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
- A proven track record of negotiating and closing sales
- The ability to perform follow-ups with clients to ensure satisfaction
- Excellent communication, leadership, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to adapt to changing situations/priorities and solve problems as they evolve
- Proficiency in using CRM tools to efficiently log activities, prospects, and clients
- The ability to build profitable long-term relationships with customers and manage these relationships effectively
- The ability to respond to incoming customer calls and email requests in an organized, timely, and efficient manner
- The ability to oversee the sales process from beginning to end, evaluate client needs, schedule sales presentations, collect necessary information to open new client accounts
- The ability to coordinate and track all sales tasks and activities in the related market
- The ability to work well independently and as a team member
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Eligibility for employment in Canada, a valid work permit, and SIN
This full-time, permanent position offers:
- A competitive salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year
- Commission pay
- On-site parking
