Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Alterations Specialist to join our team at David's Bridal. As an Alterations Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that every bride feels like a princess on her special day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm, communicate clearly and concisely, and adapt style to suit customers by problem-solving, excellent phone skills, and resolving conflict.
  • Alterations Management: Use all systems to manage customer flow, deliver five-star customer experience, and maintain all service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting the needs, and being there for all customers.
  • Service Excellence: Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at one time, contribute to the store's achievement of Five-Star Customer Service, and proactively address customer concerns with confidence.
  • Alterations Expertise: Communicate how alterations can play an important role in perfecting the dress for her event, promote all alteration services and personalization options, and assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers regarding gown fit and customization.
  • Quality Control: Maintain quality control guidelines, inspect all garments altered/steamed/pressed to verify pristine condition before final delivery to customer, and ensure that alteration pricing is at company standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory management by processing special orders pick-ups and ensuring first-quality standards for all merchandise.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain the alterations room so that it is consistently clean and well-organized, and perform duties and tasks as assigned by store management.
Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time; reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to bend, twist, and stand; move throughout the store; and talk to and hear customers.

Education and Credentials
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • Experience: 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment, prior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal and/or special occasion production environment.
  • Credentials: Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus.
