**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team on a temporary part-time basis. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team at the LMC Vaughan clinic, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and the delivery of exceptional patient care.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Coordinate the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to optimize facility use and physician schedules.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient information and forms in patient charts, and liaise with medical laboratories and physician offices as needed.
  • Prepare patients for physician evaluation, including vital sign measurements and recording information on patient charts.
  • Collect patient medical and social history, and review medication lists for accuracy and completion.
  • Promote comprehensive, coordinated care for patients through collaboration with the LMC care team.
  • Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical supplies, and download glucose meters, continuous glucose monitors, and insulin pumps.
  • Download investigations via electronic software, such as DSQ, OLIS, and Netcare.

**Requirements**

  • Medical office experience and/or a Medical Office Assistant diploma.
  • Previous experience as a Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory assistant is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Practical Nurse is considered an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems, with experience in Accuro considered an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience as a medical assistant and/or proficiency in measuring vital signs, such as manual blood pressure and pulse, is considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a focus on helping patients access services to improve their health.
