**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team at our LMC Vaughan clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our endocrinologists and interdisciplinary team in providing exceptional patient care.

**Responsibilities**

  • Coordinate the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to ensure efficient use of the facility and the Physician's schedule.
  • Ensure proper documentation and liaise with medical laboratories and/or Physician offices for accurate patient documentation.
  • Prepare patients for physician evaluation, including measuring vital signs and recording information on patient charts.
  • Collect patient medical and social history.
  • Review medication lists for accuracy and completion.
  • Promote comprehensive, coordinated care for patients, working with the LMC care team of endocrinologists, diabetes educators, pharmacists, chiropodists, optometrists, researchers, and health coaches.
  • Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical supplies.
  • Download glucose meters, continuous glucose monitors, and/or insulin pumps.
  • Download investigations via electronic software.

**Requirements**

  • Medical Office Experience and/or Medical Office Assistant Diploma.
  • Previous Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory experience is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Practical Nurse is considered an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems, with knowledge of Accuro being an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience as a medical assistant and/or proficiency in measuring various vital signs will be considered an asset.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills, with a focus on helping patients access services to improve their health.
