**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team on a temporary part-time basis. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas to ensure efficient use of the facility and the Physician's schedule.
- Ensure proper documentation, including patient information and forms, are accurate in patient charts and liaise with medical laboratories and/or Physician offices as necessary.
- Prepare patients for physician evaluation, including measuring vital signs and recording information on patient charts.
- Collect patient medical and social history.
- Review medication lists for accuracy and completeness.
- Promote comprehensive, coordinated care for patients, working with the LMC care team of endocrinologists, diabetes educators, pharmacists, chiropodists, optometrists, researchers, and health coaches.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical supplies.
- Download glucose meters, continuous glucose monitors, and/or insulin pumps.
- Download investigations via electronic software.
**Requirements**
- Medical Office Experience and/or Medical Office Assistant Diploma.
- Previous Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory experience is considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Practical Nurse is considered an asset.
- Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems, with knowledge of Accuro being an asset.
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant and/or proficiency in measuring various vital signs, such as manual blood pressure, pulse, will be considered an asset.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills, with a focus on helping patients access services to improve their health.
