Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometric Assistant to join our team on a temporary part-time basis at our LMC Vaughan location. This role requires 2-3 days of in-clinic work and involves providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients in person, by phone, or online and provide a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Book and schedule appointments, ensuring seamless coordination with our healthcare professionals.
  • Manage recalls and cold calls to book appointments, utilizing strong communication skills.
  • Pretest patients and perform auxiliary tests, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Explain procedures and costs to patients, providing clear and concise information.
  • Check-in and check-out patients in the clinic, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Facilitate patient referrals to other healthcare professionals, ensuring smooth transitions in care.
  • Assist in ordering contact lenses and ensure accurate billing and credits.
Requirements
  • High School or College Graduate with a strong foundation in healthcare or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly and caring demeanor.
  • Customer service experience, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Confidence in cold calling and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in computers and Excel spreadsheets, with the ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Able to follow directions, take personal responsibility for actions, and demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Passion for learning and dealing with people, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
