Senior Analyst, Strategy Role at The Home Depot

As a key contributor to the Strategy team, the Senior Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager of Strategy. This position is integral in collaborating with various leaders across the organization, including the executive leadership team, to drive a range of strategic and operational projects. The role is designed to facilitate the Divisional strategic planning process, enhance targeted strategy formulation, and conduct thorough competitive and macroeconomic assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation of corporate strategy:
    • Lead the Division's Strategic Planning Process, encompassing both annual and long-term strategies.
    • Engage with cross-functional teams to assess business opportunities and craft capital investment proposals.
  • Support critical strategic initiatives and projects:
    • Provide expert guidance, problem-solving capabilities, and both quantitative and qualitative analyses.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders to devise new strategic initiatives and prepare project plans for successful execution.
    • Coordinate with corporate and in-field business partners to ensure seamless communication and effective change management.
  • Monitor external factors: Stay informed on macroeconomic trends, competitive dynamics, and retail/customer behavior.
  • Create executive-level materials and presentations: Develop content for presentations to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Prioritize customer-centric strategies: Ensure that all strategic initiatives begin with a focus on the customer.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant field such as consulting, finance, internal strategy, or professional services.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering is required.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to develop and interpret financial and strategic models.
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities and comfort working in ambiguous situations.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of delivering high-quality work under pressure.
  • Intellectually curious with a passion for retail and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting to senior leadership.
  • Positive, action-oriented, and resourceful attitude.
  • Financial designations such as CPA, CFA, or CBV are advantageous but not mandatory.
