Procurement Strategy Analyst

CB Canada is seeking a dedicated Procurement Strategy Analyst to enhance our operational efficiency in the Retail Sector.

Procurement Strategy Analyst – Role Overview

  • Lead the sourcing and contract negotiation for IT-related acquisitions, encompassing software, hardware, and consulting services of varying complexity for projects valued up to $5M. Collaborate with Sourcing Specialists on more intricate contracts exceeding $5M.
  • Oversee the entire sourcing and contracting process for tasks of low to medium complexity, including vendor assessments, sourcing strategy development, bid solicitation, contract negotiation, and documentation for IT Procurement.
  • Utilize standard technology contracts and work closely with internal and external legal teams to finalize agreements, ensuring favorable business terms.
  • Guide the contracting process while adhering to compliance review protocols, including Security, CIF, tax, and Privacy considerations.
  • Support Strategic Sourcing Specialists or Consultants in various sourcing and contracting initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse business units and the IT department to ensure that contractual solutions align with business objectives.
  • Facilitate communication between business units and vendors to streamline operations.
  • Demonstrate the value of IT Procurement services throughout each project, aiming to increase engagement with these services.
  • Ensure adherence to the IT Procurement Lifecycle and integrate industry best practices throughout project phases.
  • Assume a Project Management role in sourcing, negotiations, and contracting for various agreements.
  • Work alongside IT Operational teams to ensure that contract terms and Service Level Agreements are clearly understood and communicated post-execution.
  • Maintain Vendor Portfolios as provided by the Sourcing Specialist/Manager.
  • Monitor vendor performance, gather insights from team members, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and enhanced procurement services.
  • Analyze and interpret technology-related data to inform decision-making.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Utilize industry research to identify trends and develop reports for metrics tracking.
  • Collaborate with Finance to conduct financial due diligence and ensure appropriate contractual commitments are managed.
  • Coordinate with IT Asset Management to ensure accurate reporting of procured assets and timely processing of Purchase Orders.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, providing regular updates and demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Complete assigned tasks through the Service Management workload tool and prepare necessary reports.
  • Maintain and organize the Contract repository on the ITP SharePoint Site.
  • Update the ITP Workplace Group as required.

Procurement Strategy Analyst – Required Qualifications

  • University degree, College/Technical Institute diploma, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in IT Procurement, ideally through a co-op term.
  • Familiarity with large-scale data processing environments and relevant industry trends.
  • Knowledge of current technologies, including Software-as-a-Service (SAAS), Cloud solutions, and Outsourcing.
  • Exceptional skills in facilitating discussions, interviewing, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership presence, accountability, and the ability to create a credible roadmap.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with management, business partners, and vendors at all levels.
