Procurement Strategy Analyst

CB Canada is seeking a skilled Procurement Strategy Analyst to support our client in the Retail Sector.

Procurement Strategy Analyst – Role Overview

  • Manage sourcing and contracting for IT-related acquisitions, encompassing software, hardware, and consulting services of low to medium complexity for agreements up to $5M. Collaborate with Sourcing Specialists on more intricate contract negotiations exceeding $5M.
  • Lead the sourcing and contracting processes for low to medium complexity tasks, including vendor assessments, developing sourcing strategies, soliciting bids, negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions, and completing all relevant procurement documentation.
  • Utilize standard technology contracts and coordinate with internal and external legal teams to finalize agreements. Negotiate business terms and conditions effectively.
  • Oversee the contracting process while adhering to compliance review protocols (Security, CIF, tax, Privacy).
  • Assist Strategic Sourcing Specialists or Consultants in various sourcing and contracting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with all business units and the IT department to develop contract solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Facilitate communication between client business units and vendors.
  • Demonstrate the value of IT Procurement services for each project, aiming to enhance the utilization of these services.
  • Ensure adherence to the IT Procurement Lifecycle and introduce industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assume a Project Management role in sourcing, negotiations, and contracting for MCAs, MSAs, Order Forms, etc.
  • Work alongside IT Operational teams to ensure contract terms, Service Level Agreements, and escalation processes are understood during the sourcing and contracting phases.
  • Maintain Vendor Portfolios as provided by the Sourcing Specialist/Manager.
  • Monitor vendor performance, gather input from subject matter experts, and communicate portfolio updates to relevant team members.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for procurement cost savings and value-added services.
  • Analyze, group, and interpret technology-related data.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Utilize industry research services to identify trends and techniques, developing and analyzing various reports for metrics tracking.
  • Summarize Dun & Bradstreet reports for the IT Procurement team as required.
  • Collaborate with Finance to conduct financial due diligence, perform lease/buy analyses, and ensure appropriate financial treatments and contractual commitments are approved and reported.
  • Coordinate with IT Asset Management to ensure procured assets are reported and requisitions are completed for timely delivery of Purchase Orders to vendors.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, providing regular updates and demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Complete tasks assigned through the Service Management workload tool and prepare reporting as requested.
  • Update the ITP SharePoint Site, including organizing the Contract repository.
  • Maintain the ITP Workplace Group.

Procurement Strategy Analyst – Required Qualifications

  • University degree, College/Technical Institute diploma, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in IT Procurement, ideally having completed a co-op term.
  • Working knowledge of large-scale data processing hardware and software environments, along with relevant industry trends.
  • Familiarity with current technologies and services such as Software-as-a-Service (SAAS), Cloud, and Outsourcing.
  • Exceptional skills in facilitating meetings, interviewing, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership abilities, accountability, and a proven track record in developing credible roadmaps.
  • Ability to build credibility and maintain relationships with all levels of management, business partners, and vendors.
