Role Overview

The Corporate Strategic Initiatives (CSI) team is pivotal in spearheading and supporting various corporate projects across MCAP's business lines. Our responsibilities encompass key areas such as: 1) launching new initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, developing innovative lending programs, and sourcing capital; 2) conducting market research and economic analysis; 3) managing government relations; and 4) overseeing corporate relationship management.

In this role, you will assist the Senior Director of CSI with various initiatives. Your responsibilities will include preparing business cases and associated term sheets, performing quantitative analyses (such as cash flow modeling and projections), and creating presentations. You will collaborate with relevant business units to gain insights into products and processes that support these initiatives.

Additionally, you will conduct ongoing market research, developing a comprehensive understanding of the macroeconomic and regulatory landscape and its implications for the real estate and mortgage sectors. You will also draft market-related reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

Lastly, you will assist in preparing board packages and handling any additional ad-hoc requests.

Financial Analysis and Support for Corporate Strategic Initiatives

  • Support the development and execution of Corporate Strategic Initiatives, which include:
  • Collaborating with business units to understand their processes and product needs;
  • Preparing business cases, related term sheets, and presentations;
  • Conducting quantitative analyses, including cash flow modeling and projections;
  • Data mining and analysis;
  • Analyzing and recommending suitable solutions to aid management decision-making;
  • Identifying efficiencies and assisting in the development of new operational processes;
  • Effectively communicating results with stakeholders, including management;
  • Handling ad-hoc requests.

Market Research and Reporting

  • Contributing significantly to market research and analysis;
  • Researching and gathering relevant economic and market data from various sources, summarizing findings clearly;
  • Staying updated on market developments and providing timely updates to management;
  • Coordinating data collection and report submissions from various internal parties to ensure timely completion;
  • Preparing reports and presentations tailored to specific audiences (e.g., board members, clients, and management);
  • Assisting in the preparation of board package materials;
  • Managing ad-hoc requests.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mortgage industry;
  • Experience in capital markets, finance, or accounting is advantageous;
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Financial modeling skills, including DCF, NPV, and IRR analysis;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and collaboratively;
  • Demonstrates integrity and accountability in all actions;
  • University degree in Business, Economics, or Finance.
