The Canadian segment will strategically target the Travel Insurance sector, focusing on product distribution and service solutions for key stakeholders serving customers traveling both domestically and internationally.

This position will report directly to the Chief Insurance & Product Officer and is based in Toronto, offering a hybrid work environment that promotes collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.

In the role of Senior Pricing Analyst, you will be instrumental in managing underwriting and profitability for our Travel Insurance offerings. You will engage with insurance departments across various branches and the global underwriting team, playing a vital role in the commercial success of our agile team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess and oversee the risk associated with domestic and international tenders.
  2. Partner with the Commercial team to develop optimal proposals for our partners.
  3. Present suggested pricing frameworks, anticipated profitability, and potential concerns to the Local and Global Underwriting Committee, and occasionally to our partners.
  4. Guide the profitability of our portfolio through detailed analyses by product, market, and various segmentations.
  5. Identify necessary pricing adjustments or alternative strategies to enhance profitability.
  6. Support Onboarding/IT teams in ensuring the accuracy of rating formulas.
  7. Collaborate with data teams to enhance data availability and automate profitability monitoring dashboards.
  8. Ensure pricing validation aligns with global underwriting standards.
  9. Contribute to global initiatives aimed at Product and Pricing Standardization.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related technical field.
  2. A minimum of 4 years of experience as an underwriter in the P&C Insurance sector or equivalent experience.
  3. Preferred experience in the Travel Insurance line of business.
  4. Completion of actuarial exams is advantageous.
  5. Strong technical foundation in actuarial science or insurance.
  6. Exceptional analytical and synthesis skills.
  7. Ability to convey technical findings to audiences with varying backgrounds.
  8. Proactive, relationship-oriented, and driven by curiosity and initiative.
  9. Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Expertise in Excel for advanced pricing analyses and data manipulation.
  11. Proficiency in Python or R for generalized linear models.
  12. Experience with PowerBI is highly desirable.
  13. SQL knowledge is also highly desirable.
  14. Additional scripting or automation experience is a plus.
  15. French language skills are an asset.
