Procurement Strategy Analyst

CB Canada is seeking a Procurement Strategy Analyst to support our initiatives in the Retail Sector.

Procurement Strategy Analyst – Role Overview

  • Manage sourcing and contracting for IT-related acquisitions, encompassing software, hardware, and consulting services of varying complexity for transactions up to $5M. Collaborate with Sourcing Specialists on more intricate contract negotiations exceeding $5M.
  • Lead the sourcing and contracting processes for tasks of low to medium complexity, including vendor assessment, developing sourcing strategies, soliciting bids, negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions, and ensuring all procurement documentation is completed for projects and renewals.
  • Utilize standard technology contracts and coordinate with legal counsel to finalize agreements, negotiating business terms and conditions effectively.
  • Oversee the contracting process, ensuring compliance with necessary reviews (Security, CIF, tax, Privacy).
  • Assist Strategic Sourcing Specialists or Consultants with various sourcing and contracting projects.
  • Collaborate with all business units and the IT department to ensure that contracted solutions align with business objectives.
  • Facilitate communication between internal business units and external vendors.
  • Demonstrate the value of IT Procurement services for each project, aiming to enhance the utilization of these services.
  • Ensure adherence to the IT Procurement Lifecycle and introduce industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform project management duties in sourcing, negotiations, and contracting for various agreements.
  • Work with IT Operations to ensure contract terms and Service Level Agreements are clearly understood and communicated.
  • Maintain Vendor Portfolios as provided by the Sourcing Specialist/Manager.
  • Monitor vendor performance, gather input from team members, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and value-added services in procurement.
  • Analyze and interpret technology-related data, providing insights as needed.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses as required.
  • Utilize industry research services to identify trends and develop various reports for tracking metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance to conduct financial due diligence and ensure appropriate financial treatments are approved and reported.
  • Coordinate with IT Asset Management to ensure procured assets are reported and requisitions are processed efficiently.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, providing regular updates and demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Complete assigned tasks through the Service Management workload tool and prepare reporting as needed.
  • Maintain and update the ITP SharePoint Site, including organizing the contract repository.
  • Update the ITP Workplace Group.

Procurement Strategy Analyst – Required Qualifications

  • University degree, College/Technical Institute diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in IT Procurement, ideally having completed a co-op term.
  • Familiarity with large-scale data processing environments and relevant industry trends.
  • Knowledge of current technologies and services, including Software-as-a-Service (SAAS), Cloud, and Outsourcing.
  • Exceptional skills in facilitating meetings, interviewing, and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership presence, accountability, and the ability to construct a credible roadmap.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with management, business partners, and vendors at all levels.
