POSITION OVERVIEW:

Step into a role where your contributions will significantly influence the workforce dynamics of the City of Maple Ridge. As the Human Resources Manager – Integrated Talent Management, you will create an environment that champions diversity, inclusion, and excellence, ensuring that every member of our community feels valued and empowered.

In this pivotal position, you will report directly to the Executive Director of Human Resources and lead a proactive team dedicated to implementing comprehensive HR strategies and services. Your focus will be on attracting, nurturing, and retaining exceptional talent while promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion across our organization. You will also spearhead initiatives aimed at talent and leadership development, designing and executing impactful learning and development programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The qualifications for this role typically include a recognized bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of five years of relevant management experience. This experience should encompass talent acquisition, instructional design, corporate training and development, and project management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in HRIS and various tools for HR functions such as recruitment, training, performance management, and rewards.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices in recruitment, retention, organizational development, employee relations, and compensation planning.
  • Expertise in contemporary practices for recruiting and talent management.
  • Ability to represent the organization confidently and professionally.
  • Quickly grasp the organization's business model and culture.
  • Strong business acumen and judgment, balancing employee needs with organizational demands.
  • Advanced technical skills in Word, presentation tools, and proficiency in HRIS and social recruitment tools.
  • Ability to identify strong organizational fit through an understanding of people and personalities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain respectful and professional relationships across diverse cultures and personalities.
  • Self-motivated and independent, with a collaborative spirit.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with a professional presentation style.
  • Critical and strategic thinking abilities to assess situations objectively and make informed decisions.
  • Adaptable and flexible, capable of thriving in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in municipal settings is considered an asset, and a CPHR designation is preferred.
