Position: Financial Translator and Reviser, English to French, Global Wealth Management Linguistic Services
As identified in the language needs assessment by Scotiabank, the chosen candidate must possess the ability to communicate fluently in both English and French, as collaboration with other corporate teams primarily operating in English is essential.
As a vital member of the Global Wealth Management Linguistic Services team, your contributions will significantly impact our organization's success. In this role, you will be responsible for translating and revising prestigious financial documents. Your expertise will be utilized to adapt high-profile client-facing financial materials and internal communications, ensuring that all translated content adheres to brand standards through meticulous quality control. You will actively engage in large-scale projects, leveraging your skills to achieve meaningful results for our clients and the organization.
Your exemplary work will play a crucial role in enhancing and safeguarding the brands of Scotia Wealth Management, Dynamic Funds, Scotia Funds, Jarislowsky Fraser, MD Financial Management, iTRADE, and others.
Key Responsibilities:- Translate and adapt high-profile client-facing financial documents and internal communications related to wealth management operations.
- Ensure that the tone and articulation of translated materials align with brand standards through comprehensive quality assurance.
- Review translations from internal translators and external vendors.
- Provide constructive feedback to colleagues and promote peer learning.
- Edit materials that are in French only.
- Proofread, edit, and approve final versions for various formats (print, web, internal systems, etc.).
- Manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Maintain and utilize translation memories, terminology databases, and style guides.
- Conduct research on relevant terminology and other aspects to ensure superior-quality translations.
- Engage with clients to clarify any ambiguities and escalate issues to management as necessary.
- Deliver exceptional service to clients by meeting or exceeding all service-level commitments.
- Collaborate with team members, especially on projects that are large or time-sensitive.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant translation experience and 3 years of revision experience, ideally within the financial sector and a corporate setting.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in translation.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Complete fluency in both written and spoken forms of Canadian English and Canadian and Québec French, along with excellent cultural understanding.
- Strong technological skills.
- Experience with computer-assisted translation and project management tools.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and flexibility in work style.
- Financial education, such as the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
- Experience with Flowfit, memoQ, and machine translation tools.
