The TMX Group Linguistic Services manage a centralized translation process to ensure
consistency of bilingual communications and terminology across the organization, providing full
and equal access to information in English and French to both its internal and external partners.
The team provides consistent and seamless communications in both official languages and other
foreign languages, for internal and external communications covering all areas of the company
(Human Resources, Risk Management, Regulatory reports, Health and Safety, Legal Affairs,
Capital Markets, etc.).


The Translator-Editor (English to French) provides translation, revision and proofreading
services for written materials produced across TMX Group in a timely manner.
The incumbent demonstrates great intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in the Canadian
financial markets. She or he has the ability to balance priorities while maintaining great
relationships with clients and colleagues alike. The TMX Translator-Editor is a passionate learner
and enjoys sharing his or her own knowledge

Key Accountabilities

  • Translate a wide variety of documents from English to French intended for a broad audience against multiple priorities, within the required timeframe.
  • Revise documents, ensuring quality of the final product, terminology accuracy and content uniformity, including documents translated by third party collaborators.
  • Participate in the shared team task of translating and revising the daily corporate action bulletins published by the Canadian Depository for Securities.
  • Update texts, as required, and offer editorial support.
  • Contribute to the development of the internal terminology database.
  • Act as a resource person on language, translation and editing-related questions, and provide consultation services for jargon or terminology specific to the company.
  • Support the Linguistic Services manager, as required, for specific tasks and special projects.
  • Participate in the Business Continuity Plan, as required.
  • Establish and maintain professional and constructive relationships and contribute to the promotion of the language professions across the company.

Must haves

  • BA in Translation (completed or pending completion)
  • Perfect command of written French and thorough knowledge of the English language.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, in French and in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to coordinate and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, especially for proofreading.
  • High degree of efficiency, autonomy and responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a standout colleague working to achieve common goals.
  • Professionalism, integrity and strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a structured hybrid environment with minimal guidance.
  • Knowledge of computer-assisted translation tools (Phrase and LogiTerm).
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new skills quickly.

Nice to haves

  • Translation certification from a recognized professional association (OTTIAQ, ATIO, or other).
  • Translation experience in the financial, derivatives or securities sectors.
