The Marketing and Communications division aims to spearhead innovation and set the standard in client engagement. Our adaptable and knowledgeable team collaborates closely with business partners to enhance client experiences, creating value at every interaction. The Translator will provide comprehensive English to French translation services to meet the increasing demand for French communication within The Co-operators group of companies. This role encompasses translation and editing tasks, minimizing the reliance on external translation services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate diverse written materials from English to French, often under tight deadlines, while preserving the content, context, and style of the original text. Regular audits will be conducted to ensure quality and consistency.
- Conduct research on a wide array of terminology and language-specific phrases to ensure accurate translations. Engage in team discussions regarding precise terminology.
- Occasionally proofread, review, and edit translations completed by external translators for accuracy and consistency, making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal clients to clarify details and ensure the seamless delivery of the final product according to their specifications.
- Stay updated with industry tools and resources relevant to translation services.
Qualifications for Success:
- A university degree in translation or a related field.
- 3 - 4 years of experience as a translator in a business environment, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Professional Translation accreditation is advantageous.
- Fluency in both English and French is required.
- Familiarity with translation support software and resources, including SDL Trados Studio and SDL MultiTerm, is preferred.
- Proficiency in both English and French is crucial for the primary responsibilities of this role, which involves servicing and communicating primarily with anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams.
