Department Overview: The Translation Services department plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication in French between the Company, its employees, consultants, clients, shareholders, government entities, media, and the general public.

Job Role: The Translation Services team is seeking a full-time translator-revisor for a permanent position.

Position Overview: In alignment with the Company's communication strategies, the linguists in Translation Services are tasked with translating documents from English to French or, depending on their expertise, revising a diverse range of texts related to the financial services sector and the operations of Mackenzie Investments, IGM, and IG Wealth Management.

The linguists on our team are not only communicators but also ambassadors of the Company's brand in the French-speaking market, actively collaborating with various departments within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review translations from English to French produced by external vendors and internal translators.
  2. Assess the work of internal and external translators and provide constructive feedback.
  3. Translate documents of varying complexity from English to French.
  4. Engage with clients to gather additional information as necessary.
  5. Contribute to maintaining consistency in terminology by documenting research outcomes in the internal terminology database.

Qualifications:

  1. University degree in translation.
  2. A minimum of ten years of translation experience, including three years as a revisor, preferably within the financial sector.
  3. Ability to quickly assimilate information across various subjects.
  4. Excellent concentration and organizational skills.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide feedback effectively.
  6. Capacity to work under pressure.
  7. A collaborative team player with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  8. Proficient communication skills in both French and English, both verbally and in writing.
  9. Familiarity with all Microsoft Office365 applications.
  10. Experience in financial translation is an asset.
  11. Knowledge of CAT tools (memoQ) is advantageous.
