Department Overview: The Translation Services department plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication in French between the Company and its stakeholders, including employees, consultants, clients, shareholders, government entities, media, and the general public.

Job Opportunity: The Translation Services team is seeking a full-time translator-revisor for a permanent role.

Position Summary: In alignment with the Company's communication strategies, our linguists are tasked with translating documents from English to French or, depending on their expertise, revising a variety of texts related to the financial services sector and the operations of Mackenzie Investments, IGM, and IG Wealth Management.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Review translations from English to French provided by external vendors and internal translators.
  2. Assess the work of both internal and external translators and offer constructive feedback.
  3. Translate documents of varying complexity from English to French.
  4. Engage with clients to gather additional information as required.
  5. Assist in maintaining consistent terminology within the Company by documenting research findings in the internal terminology database.

Qualifications:

  1. University degree in translation.
  2. A minimum of ten years of translation experience, including three years as a revisor, preferably within the financial sector.
  3. Ability to quickly assimilate information across diverse subjects.
  4. Excellent concentration and organizational skills.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide feedback effectively.
  6. Capability to perform under pressure.
  7. A collaborative mindset and solutions-oriented approach.
  8. Exceptional communication skills in both French and English, both verbally and in writing.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 applications.
  10. Experience in financial translation is an asset.
  11. Familiarity with CAT tools, such as memoQ, is advantageous.
