The Senior French Language Specialist is integral to the advancement of Securian Canada. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the centralized management of translation services within the organization, creating and enforcing processes for effective bilingual communication across all departments. Your responsibilities will encompass content creation and editing, with a focus on English to French translation (80%) and French to English translation (20%). Additionally, you will be tasked with managing all corporate documentation, communications, and the preparation of French RFPs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the French language and translation initiatives at Securian Canada;
  • Translate organizational materials from English into French;
  • Establish a dedicated in-house translation center, ensuring compliance and consistency in translations;
  • Oversee relationships with external translation vendors;
  • Develop and uphold an internal terminology and style guide;
  • Review and refine translations to maintain quality and uniformity;
  • Compose responses to French RFPs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in translation (English-French);
  • Certification from a recognized translation association;
  • A minimum of seven years of professional translation experience;
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Proficient computer skills;
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
