Position Summary
Reporting to the Chair of the newly announced UHN Collaborative Centre for Health Services & Policy Research—a community of excellence to share resources and best practices, apply findings across different aspects of human health and disease, advance technologies and approaches, and to grow UHN's global reputation as a powerhouse in health services and policy research—the Manager, Collaborative Centre Strategy & Operations is a new role that will provide operational and strategic support in the development and implementation of this new Centre.

Duties

  • Work closely with the Chair and the Centre's Executive Committee (EC) in developing the Centre's strategic vision and plan, as well as supporting the implementation of the plan (including the development of key performance indicators and associated reporting)
  • Develop a viable business plan for the operational implementation of the Centre and its activities, in collaboration with RSS Executive and other relevant partners
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including budgeting and resource allocation, and administrative support of the Chair and EC activities
  • With the EC, help define the Centre's priorities, and identify potential funding mechanisms and appropriate collaborations for the Centre
  • Support the Chair and EC in establishing a community of excellence to promote a dynamic, inclusive, and interdisciplinary research environment integrated with UHN's Research Institutes, other UHN Collaborative Centres, and Medical Programs
  • Help engage local and international partners, including academic institutions, health system organizations, community groups and policy decision makers in the Centre's activities
  • Promote the Centre and its progress through internal communications, publications, presentations, and media engagement
Qualifications
  • At minimum, completion of a masters degree in business or recognized equivalent required
  • At minimum Over 3 years up to and including 4 years practical and related experience and/or 6 months on-the-job training required
  • Leadership experience in health systems/policy research preferred
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills preferred
  • Related experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and team management preferred
  • Experience in securing research funding preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and advocacy skills required
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research required
