About the Role:

Best Western Fernie Plus Mountain Lodge is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. As a Lead Culinary Director, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards in food preparation and presentation while ensuring efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to optimize kitchen efficiency.">
  • Instruct cooks on preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation techniques to ensure consistency and quality.">
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets and conferences.">
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the highest quality standards while catering to diverse tastes and dietary requirements.">
  • Supervise and mentor sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks to enhance their skills and promote teamwork.">

Requirements:

  • Cook Trade Certification or equivalent experience.">
  • 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced hotel or resort kitchen environment.">
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.">
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.">
  • Ability to plan menus and manage kitchen inventory efficiently.">
