Executive Culinary Director

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experiences? Resorts of the Canadian Rockies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Culinary Director to join our team at Fernie Alpine Resort.
As an Executive Culinary Director, you will play a key role in shaping the culinary vision and strategy for our resort. With a strong background in kitchen management and leadership, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team and ensuring that our culinary offerings meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
We are looking for someone who is not only a seasoned chef but also a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with our Food and Beverage Director to develop and implement menus, train staff, and maintain high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive culinary strategy that aligns with the resort's overall vision and objectives
- Lead and manage a team of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
- Source high-quality ingredients, manage inventory, and optimize food costs
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute events, weddings, and other special functions
- Conduct regular menu tastings and make recommendations for menu changes and improvements
- Monitor and control labor costs, inventory levels, and food waste to maximize efficiency and profitability
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in senior-level culinary roles, preferably in a luxury resort setting
- Proven track record of success in leading high-performing teams and driving business growth through innovation and excellence
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
