Job Description

As a Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with innovative and diverse people around the world. Your role will involve working with Sales & Marketing leadership and organization to execute for critical growth in high-value spaces.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

- Determine directions, priorities, and align resources with full accountability for results of market segments, customers, and applications of responsibility.

- Lead the development of new and existing market segments, customers, and applications.

- Identify and define market/product opportunities to meet sales and growth objectives.

- Build a strategically targeted pipeline, focused on critical market segments, customers, and applications.

- Accountable for achieving Sales targets for assigned market segments, customers, and applications.

- Work with cross-functional Managers to align on execution for growth, utilizing field-based sales, channel, and application engineering resources to accelerate pull-through sales with End-Users.

- Drive sales growth with data-driven activities utilizing POS.

- Create solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems, which requires ingenuity, creativity, innovation, and strong analytical skills.

- Adjust sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions for assigned key market segments, customers, and applications.

- Influence external decision makers at the highest account level.

- Build strong customer relationships and lead negotiations of major contracts.

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of combined experience working sales and/or marketing in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Current, valid Driver's License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Expert/master knowledge and experience with key account management and channel sales/marketing in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Possess broad knowledge of multiple related disciplines. Comprehensive knowledge of 3M's global strategy, business areas, structure, and organization, as well as of the external market (competitors, trends, etc.).
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing point of sales information to recommend promotional growth programs to a channel partner.
