About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at EightSix Network. As a key member of our brigade, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests' expectations are exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the culinary team
  • Handle stressful situations in a professional manner
  • Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records
  • Work a variety of shifts as required, including evenings and weekends
  • Manage kitchen operations with a hands-on approach

Requirements

  • Journeyman Cook papers or Red Seal certification
  • Passion for the culinary arts and a commitment to excellence
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive culinary experience in a large kitchen, with a minimum of two years as a Chef de Partie
  • Strong people management skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Well-rounded knowledge of kitchen operations, including pastry and baking
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • French language skills (verbal and written) are an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and good computer skills
  • Ability to attain the proof of completion certificate for the on-line Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness in 5 Steps program offered through the Ontario Ministry of Labor
