Executive Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Nai Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, managing staff, and ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a sous chef in a high-volume restaurant or similar establishment. You will be responsible for maintaining records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory, as well as supervising the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
As an Executive Sous Chef, you will also be required to demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff, create new recipes, instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food, and prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
- Supervise specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
- Create new recipes and menus
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a sous chef in a high-volume restaurant or similar establishment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in culinary arts an asset
- Proven ability to maintain accurate records and supervise staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Competitive salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
