Executive Chef Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Squires Gastro Pub. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and cooking of meals, as well as supervising the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
- Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
- Create new recipes
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
- Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
Requirements:
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
- Food Safety Certificate
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Leadership and dependability
- Flexibility and reliability
- Team player
