Job Responsibilities

The Banquet Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional service at all banquet and catering functions. This position is responsible for providing effective training and oversight to guarantee prompt and courteous service that aligns with Omni's standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold food and beverage standards to ensure a consistent guest experience in accordance with Omni's guidelines.
  • Prepare and finalize all necessary reports and billing related to events.
  • Inspire and develop team members with a focus on achieving excellence in service delivery.
  • Maintain close communication and collaboration with other departments.
  • Regularly inspect banquet areas to ensure they meet hotel standards.
  • Engage actively with guests and fellow associates to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist the Banquet Manager with team meetings, training sessions, scheduling, and payroll tasks.
  • Encourage associates to create unique and memorable experiences for guests at every opportunity.
  • Provide support to other outlets as needed to ensure seamless food and beverage operations throughout the hotel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Hotel Management is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in managing banquet and catering events, including receptions, weddings, and conferences.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Strong skills in forecasting, cost control, and scheduling.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including employee development, teamwork, and outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with MICROS POS is preferred.
  • SMART SERVE Certification is required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical capability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
