Position Summary

The Banquet Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of top-tier service during all banquet and catering functions. This position is responsible for overseeing training and guidance to guarantee that service meets the high standards set by Omni Hotels & Resorts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold food and beverage quality standards to ensure a consistent guest experience aligned with Omni's expectations.
  • Prepare and manage all necessary documentation and billing related to events.
  • Inspire and mentor team members, emphasizing a commitment to excellence in service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Regularly inspect banquet areas to maintain compliance with hotel standards.
  • Engage actively with guests and hotel staff to foster a welcoming environment.
  • Assist the Banquet Manager with team meetings, training initiatives, scheduling, and payroll management.
  • Encourage team members to create unique and memorable experiences for guests.
  • Provide support to other outlets as necessary to ensure efficient food and beverage operations throughout the hotel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or College diploma in Hotel Management is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in managing banquet and catering events, including receptions, weddings, and conferences.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Strong skills in forecasting, cost control, and scheduling.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including fostering employee development and teamwork.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and familiarity with MICROS POS systems is preferred.
  • SMART SERVE Certification is required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical capability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
