Job Description

The Food & Beverage Banquet Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional service at all banquet and catering functions. This position is responsible for providing effective training and oversight to guarantee prompt and courteous service that aligns with Omni's Food and Beverage standards as well as company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in managing banquet and catering events such as receptions, weddings, galas, and conferences.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Strong skills in forecasting, cost management, and scheduling.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including employee development, teamwork across departments, and exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, decision-making capabilities, and sound judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with MICROS POS is a plus.
  • Must possess SMART SERVE Certification.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physically capable of standing and/or walking for extended periods and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 40 lbs.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold food and beverage standards while ensuring a consistent guest experience in accordance with Omni's guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary reports and billing related to events.
  • Inspire and develop team members with a focus on achieving excellence in service.
  • Maintain close coordination and communication with other departments.
  • Regularly inspect banquet areas to ensure they meet hotel standards.
  • Engage actively with guests and fellow associates.
  • Assist the Banquet Manager with team meetings, training, scheduling, and payroll tasks.
  • Encourage team members to create unique and memorable experiences for guests.
  • Provide support to various outlets as needed to ensure seamless food and beverage operations throughout the hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager.
