Global Transaction Banking (GTB) serves as the payments and transaction hub of Scotiabank. We provide effective treasury management solutions to Small Business, Commercial, and Corporate clients, ensuring a seamless banking experience.

As businesses enhance their digital capabilities, their payment requirements are also evolving. With a unique global presence, GTB offers a comprehensive suite of innovative banking solutions designed to help our business clients achieve operational efficiencies, streamline payments, enhance working capital performance, and mitigate financial risks.

Role Purpose:
In this capacity, you will play a pivotal role in the success of Global Transaction Banking (GTB) across Scotiabank's markets. You will be responsible for identifying and developing transformational opportunities within GTB while ensuring that individual goals and initiatives align with the team's strategic objectives. This position will involve close collaboration with various business lines to define and validate strategies for GTB's domestic and international markets, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a customer-centric culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader bank resources.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and identify opportunities for GTB, engaging with clients to explore business challenges and communicate potential solutions.
  • Contribute to the formulation of the GTB strategy and roadmap by researching global payment trends and assessing their relevance to Scotiabank's markets.
  • Collaborate with business line partners to identify GTB opportunities that align with the bank's strategic priorities.
  • Develop methodologies to quantify and articulate the value of identified opportunities.
  • Lead problem-solving sessions, workshops, and interviews with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
  • Synthesize findings and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support annual business planning processes.
  • Understand the bank's risk appetite and culture in daily operations and decision-making.
  • Promote efficient operations in line with Scotiabank's values and compliance requirements.
  • Encourage a high-performance and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, or related strategy roles within the Financial Services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the domestic and global transaction banking landscape and market dynamics.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex business concepts related to transaction banking.
  • Experience applying design thinking principles to address business challenges.
  • Comfortable working in an agile, matrixed environment.
  • Hands-on experience with payments modernization initiatives, both domestically and internationally.
  • General awareness of global transaction banking trends and technologies.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
