Senior Analyst, Strategy Position at The Home Depot

As a pivotal member of the Strategy team, the Senior Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager of Strategy. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional leaders and the executive leadership team to drive various strategic and operational initiatives. The Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Divisional strategic planning process, targeted strategy formulation, and ongoing competitive and macroeconomic analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Corporate Strategy Development:
    • Facilitate the Division's Strategic Planning Process, encompassing both annual and long-term planning efforts.
    • Engage with cross-functional teams to assess business opportunities and craft capital investment proposals.
  • Support Strategic Priorities and Projects:
    • Provide thought leadership and problem-solving expertise, conducting both quantitative and qualitative analyses, and facilitating workshops to deliver actionable recommendations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional business leaders to formulate new strategic initiatives and develop project plans for effective implementation.
    • Coordinate with corporate and in-field business partners to ensure seamless communication and effective change management.
  • Monitor External Environment: Stay informed on macroeconomic trends, competitive activities, and retail and customer behavior.
  • Prepare Executive Presentations: Develop materials for presentations to the Board of Directors and Executive Team.
  • Prioritize Customer-Centric Strategies: Ensure that all strategic initiatives are rooted in a deep understanding of customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant field such as consulting, finance, internal strategy, or professional services.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering is required.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to develop and interpret financial and strategic models.
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities and comfort with ambiguity.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A self-motivated individual who is organized, efficient, and capable of delivering high-quality work under pressure.
  • Intellectually curious with a passion for retail and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting to senior management.
  • A positive, action-oriented attitude and resourcefulness are essential.
  • Financial designations such as CPA, CFA, or CBV are advantageous but not mandatory.
