Position Overview

As a pivotal member of the MUFG Investor Services team, you will report directly to the Executive Director of Client Operations within Fund Administration. Your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Comprehensive Fund Services: Deliver a complete suite of fund accounting and administration solutions tailored for private equity fund clients, including meticulous preparation and review of Net Asset Value (NAV).
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a dedicated team of Fund Accountants, ensuring effective service delivery and providing training on all facets of the NAV process.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with banks, auditors, brokers, and custodians to facilitate seamless service provision and timely NAV completion.
  • Fee Schedule Management: Authorize fee structures, including management and carried interest calculations, ensuring adherence to relevant fund documentation.
  • Investor Allocation Oversight: Scrutinize and validate investor allocations for each NAV cycle, manage waterfall calculations, and ensure compliance with client instructions regarding capital calls and distributions.
  • AML Compliance: Collaborate with the internal Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team and administrators to fulfill all AML obligations.
  • Client Relations: Address and resolve all client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and endorse schedules, reports, and files, ensuring compliance with organizational controls.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to guarantee that all tasks are completed in accordance with service level agreements.
  • Expense Approval: Sanction fund expense payments through applicable banking systems, ensuring that all controls are strictly followed.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation and review of audited financial statements and manage the annual audit process.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Ensure accurate reporting to regulatory authorities.
  • Procedure Development: Establish fund or client-specific procedures that encompass all service aspects, ensuring comprehensive cross-training and coverage.
  • Office Growth: Contribute to the expansion of the local office.
  • Process Improvement: Generate innovative ideas for enhancing the NAV process, implementing technological advancements, and refining client reporting.
  • Project Participation: Engage in various system initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
  • University degree with a focus on finance or accounting.
  • Proven experience in the fund administration sector, including staff management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the fund administration landscape and its profitability drivers.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the private equity fund administration sector, including various fund structures and fee calculations.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting software such as Geneva, Investran, or Yardi, or a working knowledge of Bloomberg is advantageous.
  • Completion or interest in pursuing a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CFA, or equivalent) is a plus.
