Position OverviewReporting directly to the Executive Director of Client Operations within Fund Administration, your key responsibilities will encompass:
- Delivering comprehensive fund accounting and administration services tailored for private equity fund clients, including the preparation and examination of Net Asset Value (NAV), custody services, and investor record management.
- Leading a team of Fund Accountants to ensure efficient service delivery and providing training on all facets of the NAV process.
- Collaborating with banks, auditors, brokers, and custodians to facilitate seamless service provision and timely NAV completion.
- Overseeing fee schedules, including the calculation of management and carried interest, ensuring adherence to relevant fund documentation.
- Reviewing and approving investor allocations for each NAV cycle, managing waterfall calculations, custody trading documents, and processing capital calls and distribution wires in accordance with client instructions.
- Coordinating with the internal AML team and administrators to ensure compliance with all AML regulations.
- Addressing all client inquiries promptly and effectively.
- Reviewing and endorsing schedules, reports, and files to ensure compliance with organizational controls.
- Managing resource allocation to guarantee all tasks are completed and service level agreements are upheld.
- Authorizing payment of fund expenses through applicable banking systems while ensuring control measures are followed.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of audited financial statements and annual audits.
- Overseeing reporting for regulatory authorities.
- Establishing fund or client-specific procedures that encompass all aspects of our services, ensuring cross-training and coverage for all client services.
- Contributing to the growth and development of the local office.
- Generating ideas for enhancing the NAV process, technological advancements, and client reporting.
- Participating in various system initiatives and projects.
- A post-secondary education or university degree with a focus on finance or accounting.
- Proven experience in the fund administration sector, including staff management, which may involve working with other administrators, investment managers, or fund auditors.
- In-depth knowledge of the fund administration business and its profitability drivers.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for this role.
- Comprehensive understanding of the private equity fund administration landscape, including various fund structures, fee calculations, financial instruments, and fund offering documentation review.
- Familiarity with fund accounting software such as Geneva, Investran, or Yardi, or a working knowledge of Bloomberg is advantageous.
- Completion or interest in obtaining a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CFA, or equivalent) is a plus.
