Position Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Lead for Target Delivery Systems to oversee our engineering team dedicated to the maintenance and operation of the Target Delivery System (TDS). This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of the TDS, which is integral to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to uphold the operational standards of the TDS, managing daily support for operations and executing necessary design modifications and maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain detailed plans and schedules, ensuring accountability for the team's cost and schedule commitments.
  • Implement Task Definition Forms (TDFs) for work assignments to streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with the TDS Manager on resource planning, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
  • Provide direct support for the system, leveraging knowledge of design and modification processes.
  • Address production challenges by guiding cross-functional teams through effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Engage with key partners to facilitate operational support and maintenance supply.
  • Ensure prompt responses to unplanned maintenance needs, with a commitment to 24/7 support for production-critical issues.
  • Participate in and lead technical meetings, presenting data and insights effectively.
  • Oversee design activities, ensuring compliance with technical documentation and standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of nuclear codes and standards relevant to the Canadian Nuclear sector.
  • Promote adherence to processes, industry standards, and safety protocols throughout all projects and activities.
  • Travel may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Nuclear, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Possession or pursuit of a valid PEO license.
  • Experience in the design, fabrication, and operation of Target Delivery Systems is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years in design or manufacturing engineering within regulated industries.
  • Proven leadership experience in a design or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget management and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary departments such as mechanical, systems, and software design.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Desired Attributes

  • Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably Inventor or Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards.
  • Understanding of risk-based modification processes in the nuclear industry.
