We are seeking a Manufacturing Lead for the Target Delivery System to oversee our operations. Our Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions division is responsible for the design, production, and maintenance of critical tooling for on-power refueling and reactor maintenance utilized globally. We are pioneers in developing automated systems that facilitate continuous refueling of CANDU reactors, addressing significant challenges within the nuclear industry.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Target Delivery Systems and will be responsible for leading all manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain activities associated with the Target Delivery System operations. This role encompasses ensuring the safety and reliability of the system, including design, operational support, and maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage all manufacturing activities to meet operational demands.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and internal departments to ensure efficient procurement and fabrication processes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed plans and schedules, ensuring adherence to manufacturing cost and timelines.
  • Engage in planning and forecasting with the TDS Manager and engineering teams.
  • Provide insights into system support and contribute to design and maintenance planning.
  • Generate precise cost estimates for supply chain activities.
  • Oversee design modifications and maintain configuration control throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Address production challenges through effective problem-solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Interface with key stakeholders, including operations and field services.
  • Ensure timely responses to unplanned maintenance issues, providing 24/7 support as necessary.
  • Participate in technical meetings and design reviews, presenting data and manufacturing strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicable nuclear codes and standards.
  • Uphold compliance with industry standards, quality systems, and safety protocols.
  • Travel may be required as part of the role.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Software Engineering.
  • Experience in the design and operation of Target Delivery Systems.
  • A minimum of 3 to 8 years in manufacturing engineering within regulated industries.
  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget management and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with modern manufacturing techniques and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current PEO license.
  • Experience with custom-engineered equipment and automation.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and FEA software.
  • Background in the CANDU Nuclear Industry.
  • Knowledge of CSA Nuclear Codes and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
