Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Engineering Lead for Target Delivery Systems to oversee our engineering team responsible for the maintenance and operations of the Target Delivery System (TDS). This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of our systems, which play a vital role in the nuclear power industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to uphold the operational standards of the TDS, including daily operational support and necessary design modifications.
  • Develop and manage detailed plans and schedules, ensuring accountability for cost and schedule commitments.
  • Implement Task Definition Forms (TDFs) for work assignments to streamline operations.
  • Collaborate with the TDS Manager on resource planning, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
  • Provide direct support for system operations, requiring a thorough understanding of design and modification processes.
  • Address production challenges by guiding cross-functional teams through effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Engage with key partners to ensure seamless operations and support for parts supply and maintenance execution.
  • Respond promptly to unplanned maintenance issues, providing 24/7 support as necessary.
  • Lead and participate in meetings, including design reviews, to present technical data and findings.
  • Oversee design activities, ensuring compliance with documentation and drawing verification.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable nuclear codes and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, quality systems, and safety protocols throughout all projects.
  • Travel may be required to support operations across various locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Nuclear, or Software Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Possession or pursuit of a valid PEO license is preferred.
  • Experience in the design, fabrication, and operation of Target Delivery Systems is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a regulated engineering environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven ability to manage project schedules and budgets effectively.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary departments such as mechanical, systems, and software design is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with 3D CAD software, particularly Inventor or Solidworks.
  • Background in the CANDU Nuclear Industry, with on-site experience at a nuclear facility being a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of CSA Nuclear Codes and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
  • Understanding of risk-based modification processes and Engineering Change Control concepts in the nuclear sector.
