We are currently seeking an Engineering Lead for Target Delivery Systems at our facility. Our Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions division is engaged in the design, manufacturing, development, testing, and servicing of innovative tooling for on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery, utilized globally.

The Engineering Lead for Target Delivery Systems will offer technical guidance to a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the maintenance and operations of the Target Delivery System (TDS). This team is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of the TDS, which includes design, development, operational support, reliability improvements, maintenance planning, and field activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to a diverse engineering team to meet operational demands of the TDS, managing daily support, design modifications, and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and oversee detailed plans and schedules, ensuring accountability for cost and schedule commitments.
  • Implement Task Definition Forms (TDFs) for all work assignments to maintain clarity and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the TDS Manager on resource planning, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
  • Directly contribute to system support, requiring a solid understanding of design and modification processes.
  • Address production challenges by leading cross-functional teams in effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Engage with key partners to ensure seamless operations and support for parts supply and maintenance execution.
  • Respond promptly to unplanned maintenance needs, providing 24/7 support to mitigate production impacts.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external meetings, including design reviews and technical presentations.
  • Offer technical oversight and direction for design activities, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicable nuclear codes and standards within the Canadian context.
  • Ensure adherence to processes, industry standards, and safety protocols throughout all projects.
  • Travel may be required to support operations across various locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Nuclear, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Possession or pursuit of a valid PEO license is preferred.
  • Experience with the design, fabrication, and operation of Target Delivery Systems is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years in design or manufacturing engineering within regulated industries.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in a design or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage project schedules and budgets effectively.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary departments such as mechanical, systems, and software design is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to diverse audiences.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably Inventor or Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of the CANDU Nuclear Industry, with on-site experience considered a plus.
  • Understanding of CSA Nuclear Codes and Standards.
  • Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
  • Awareness of risk-based modification processes and Engineering Change Control concepts in the nuclear sector.
