Position Title: Instructor Therapist

Program: Kinark Child & Family Services -> Autism Services

Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time

Salary: $26.69 per hour to start

Job Summary:
As an Instructor Therapist, you will engage in intensive behavioral intervention, delivering services to children and youth with autism. Your role will involve working with children and youth in various settings, including home, clinic, center, and classroom environments, both individually and in small groups. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including potential evening and weekend shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Client Services:
Provide tailored services grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to cater to the unique needs of each child and youth. Participate in evidence-based programming, including administering skill acquisition initiatives, teaching appropriate behaviors, and mitigating challenging behaviors. Maintain regular communication with parents to provide updates on progress and facilitate parent coaching sessions. Develop educational materials to support programming and collect relevant data.
Data Collection and Review:
Conduct behavioral or curriculum assessments and track progress by maintaining detailed daily records of the child's behavior and skill development.
Administrative Duties:
Oversee the clinical documentation for each client, including preparing data sheets, daily graphing, and adjusting programming as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Autism and Behavior Science, Behavioral Psychology, or a related field

• College diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, or Developmental Service Worker may be considered

• Experience in delivering ABA-based programming is an asset

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is an asset

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, time-management, and communication skills

• Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

• Knowledge of cultural diversity and proficiency in other languages is an asset

• First Aid/CPR training is an asset
