Position Title: Instructor Therapist

Program: Kinark Child & Family Services -> Autism Services

Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time

Salary: Starting at $26.69 per hour

Job Overview:
As an Instructor Therapist, you will engage in intensive behavioral intervention, delivering services to children and youth with autism. Your role will involve working with clients in various settings, including home, clinic, and classroom environments, both individually and in small groups. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with potential evening, weekend, and split shifts, totaling up to 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Services:
Provide tailored services grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to address the unique needs of each child and youth. Participate in the implementation of evidence-based programs, including skill acquisition initiatives, promoting appropriate behaviors, and mitigating challenging behaviors. Maintain regular communication with parents to share progress updates and facilitate parent coaching sessions. Develop educational materials to support programming and systematically collect and analyze data.
Data Management:
Conduct assessments related to behavior or curriculum and track progress through meticulous daily documentation of each child's behavior and skill development.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Manage the clinical documentation for each client, including preparing data sheets, daily tracking, and adjusting programming as needed.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Autism and Behavior Science, Behavioral Psychology, or a related discipline

• A college diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Work, or Developmental Services may be considered

• Experience in delivering ABA-based programming is advantageous

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is preferred

• Strong organizational, interpersonal, time-management, and communication skills

• Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation

• Awareness of cultural diversity and proficiency in additional languages is beneficial

• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus

Kinark Child and Family Services requires successful completion of a Criminal Record Check or Vulnerable Sector Screening, a Pre-Employment Medical certificate, and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 as conditions of employment.
