Job Overview:

The Powertrain Engine Calibration Engineer plays a crucial role in the development of engine calibrations aimed at achieving LEV II and LEV III emission standards while ensuring optimal system cost and exceptional driveability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and refine engine calibrations to meet stringent emission regulations.
  2. Collaborate with various teams including base engine hardware, scientific laboratories, and vehicle engineering groups.
  3. Implement best practices in design and calibration methodologies.
  4. Conduct verification testing aligned with powertrain system performance objectives.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited institution.
  2. 0-3 years of experience in the calibration of emission systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited institution.
  2. Experience with Hardware In the Loop development and database management.
  3. Proficiency in Matlab, Simulink, Data Acquisition, and Excel is highly desirable.
  4. Hands-on experience with engine repair is advantageous.
  5. Familiarity with gasoline engine lines is preferred, with limited exposure to diesel engines.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Residence in Ontario is mandatory.
  2. Willingness to travel to the US for occasional meetings, typically 1 to 2 times per month.
  3. Driving is a requirement for this position.
  4. This is a hybrid work opportunity.
