Directs and supports world-wide Business Development. As part of the senior leadership team, supports the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that deliver superior customer engagement, optimal execution of imaging and clinical projects, product/service innovation and extraordinary client partnerships. Responsible for leading sales team to achieve annual sales targets.
**Strategic Planning & Growth**:
- In conjunction with CCO, participate in strategic and operational decision processes, ensuring continued alignment of business development with organizational goals and direction.
- Set the annual sales target in consultation with CCO and Executive Team.
- Lead and approval of short
- and long-term business development planning and development.
- Report to Executive team on market environment and current industry business activities. Provide sales updates, forecasts, client feedback, market analysis, and industry data to support corporate strategy development, resource planning, and new business decision making.
- Work in cooperation with the senior leadership team to achieve excellence in business development processes and implement recommendations to maximize efficiency for our team and clients, while meeting all regulatory and/or industry standards.
**Operational Planning & Execution**:
- Provide operational leadership and guide the department budgeting, resourcing, and planning processes to transform strategic direction into measurable short and long-term goals and targets.
- Responsible for delivery against annual sales target and annual department budget.
- Provide input on, and ensure alignment with, sales team messaging and career pathing.
- Design and implement a comprehensive, strategic Business Development program to obtain additional projects from existing clients and attract new clients.
- Lead development of tailored value propositions and productization for Alimentiv’s services.
- Review, revise and approve all budgets, proposals before submitting to sponsors.
**Client Relations**:
- Represent and support the Corporation with Sponsors, at industry and/or academic events and actively promote the organization and its services by seeking out and identifying potential growth opportunities.
- Develop and/or oversee the development of client communications, content, and delivery.
- Assist in corporate promotion, sponsor relations and complex international bids/startups.
- Drive high post-sales satisfaction by staying abreast of Alimentiv’s operational performance, providing client feedback, and proposing action as needed to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded.
**Leadership and Employee Engagement**:
- Optimize team effectiveness through formal and informal training, individualized coaching, goal setting, performance management and strategic support.
- Serve as a role model, motivator, and mentor to members of the Business Development group ensuring functional areas are adequately staffed with qualified personnel, providing ongoing support to managers and/or leaders in the areas of work allocation, resource planning, staff allocation, training and development, employee engagement and performance management (staff evaluation, performance improvement and attendance management).
- Motivate and guide a high-performance department, ensuring people, processes and systems are in place to support the delivery of quality operational services that support organizational health.
- Develop a 3-5 year succession plan for each functional area and work closely with those leaders to ensure key employees are receiving adequate development and stretch opportunities.
**Qualificiations**:
- Strong knowledge of clinical research and/or imaging services in CROs.
- Track record of sales target achievement.
